Rolling over....

At 5 and half months old Hilton has officially rolled over from his back to his tummy....twice while I had my back turned! A couple months ago he rolled over from his belly to his back which we caught in video, very exciting! Not so lucky this time. Hilton has been SO close to rolling over for about a month now (maybe even a little longer). He would get all the way over but his arm would be stuck underneath him (then he would just get mad). I didn't count that as officially rolling over though, I wanted him to be over and able to prop himself up with his arms. Welllllll, yesterday I put him on his BACK on his little floor gym on our bed while I was getting ready in the bathroom (yes, I can see him from there). When I looked at him about 10 seconds later, there he was, on his belly, arms free and wiggling around. WHAT?! When did he do that, and HOW did I miss it?! Okay, I thought to myself, get the phone out to record him doing it again....well, all I got was several minutes of him whining because he didn't want to be laying down anymore. Maybe next time. That next time came several hours later when Hilton woke up at about 4:30am last night. I gave him his paci and turned on his sleep sheep (basically a sound machine inside a stuffed animal), and a he was calm, asleep I thought. When he started screaming 5 minutes later, I went back in and he had done it again....he was laying on his tummy. Missed my opportunity to record this one too, darn! Maybe Hilton is shy about his new talent, but my goal is to get it recorded and then post it on the blog (need to figure out how to do that, lol).

On another note, I have been nervous to post this for fear something might change, but Hilton has been sleeping sooo much better the past week. Most of the time only waking up once, and then just falling back to sleep on his own. One night he didn't wake up at all!! It has been wonderful! I have been waiting for this moment for 5.5 months (honestly never thought it would happen). We have dropped his middle of the night feeding (which has been great for me since I am breastfeeding). Let's hope he keeps up the good sleep.

And, on another note, our sweet neighbor let us borrow her baby scale so we could see what Hilton weighed nowadays. If you will notice from the previous post his thighs are VERY chunky (I just love them though!). On the scale at our house we got 18.4 (weighing ourselves, then weighing ourselves while holding him and subtracting the difference) and 18.6 (just setting him on the scale). On the baby scale he weighed in at 18lbs 1 oz. He is big, very big and heavy! It must be the rice cereal that we started a few weeks ago. It sure is affecting his bowel movements...blowouts, lots of them, which means more laundry and extra baths for Hilton! It's all good though because we just love our sweet little boy!!!

Mail for Hilton!

There was a postcard for Hilton in the mail yesterday! It was from his uncle David and aunt Lindsay that live in Vienna, Austria. It had such a sweet message on it, and as you can see, Hilton is very excited to get mail from them!! We miss uncle David and aunt Lindsay!!

Disney Cruise 2012

For Christmas last year, Jim and Monica (Seth's parents) gave the whole family a ticket aboard the Disney Dream cruise ship!!!! We set sail on March 9th headed to the Bahamas. It was an amazing trip filled with tons of memories to last a lifetime! We stopped in Nassau the first day were the girls and kids did some shopping. The guys went to Atlantis to do some gambling. The second day of the cruise was spent at Disneys private island, Castaway Cay. After a couple hours at the beach it started to rain, so we enjoyed a BBQ lunch under a covered area. The third day we were at sea and had a lot of fun hanging out on deck in the sunshine. The food on the ship was also amazing!!! I don't recall a time during the whole cruise where I felt hungry. If you have young kids, Disney cruises are the way to go!

The Romine wedding in NOLA

Seth and I headed to New Orleans the first weekend in March to see our good friends, Ashley and Lucas, get married. Lucas was Seth's roommate for two years on med school and they have kept in touch ever since. We had a fabulous time during all the wedding festivities and catching up with some friends we hadn't seen in a long time. Few pics from our fun weekend!

Hilton stayed at home with his Nana and Grandad (Seth's parents). They drove from Tennessee to Charleston to take care of him for the weekend (thank you Nana and Grandad!). He had a great weekend as well hanging out and shopping with his grandparents:)

Splish splash

Its been a beautiful weekend here in charleston and I thought Hilton might enjoy some pool time. Since our neighborhood pool doesn't open for another couple of weeks we headed on over to Wally world to find a blow up baby pool. Here he is in our back yard enjoying himself!
